In 1995, Roy. E Carroll, II, the company's President and CEO, started a commercial land and property development company to be responsible for all commercial, office, and multifamily business. Due to the company's rapid growth and high demand, especially in the multifamily industry, Mr. Carroll was inspired to form another company to specifically focus on multifamily development. 

In 2002, CIP Construction was introduced as the multifamily development division of The Carroll Companies. The company then expanded its portfolio from the Triad region to Myrtle Beach, SC and Asheville, NC over the next year. The company continued to develop prestigious, sustainable properties throughout the Carolinas and, to date, CIP Construction also operates in Georgia, Tennessee, and Texas with nearly 20 projects in the development pipeline.
